The Sports council meeting for the Year 2020-2021 was conducted today (19.02.2021) at 12 pm at the Principal's chamber. The Principal Dr.S.Manimegalai, Dr.A.Vennila  Director of Physical Education ,  members of sports council  Dr.V.Sadhasivam, Head of the department of Mathematics, Dr.P. Prakash Assistant Professor department of  History  S.Sathyaprakash - III B.Com, M.Sabarinathan - III BA(Pub.Admn.), L.Manikandan - II B.Com, K.Gowsalya -III BA(Pub Admn.), K.Gowsalya - III BA(Pub.Admn.) and S.Durga devi III BA (Pub.Admn.) were in the meeting.

COVID-19 TEST CAMP                A COVID-19 camp was conducted in the college premises for the students and staff of the institution on 17.12.2020 and 18.12.2020 and another camp was conducted on 25.12.2020 and 27.12.2020 for the students staying in the college hostels. The medical staff from PHC, Pillanallur helped in testing the students and staff. 110 students and staff together were tested on 17.12.2020 and 150 were tested on 18.12.2020. 80 students and staff together were tested on 25.12.2020 and 27.12.2020.                                                            

  COVID-19 AWARENESS             As per the guidelines of the Government, the college reopened on 02.12.2020 for the II P.G. students and the research scholars and on 07.12.2020 for the III U.G. students. The Principal Dr. S. Manimegalai, COVID-19 Nodal Officer and Director of Physical Education Dr. A. Vennila, Heads of all the departments of the college, and the staff members met the students at the entrance of the college and talked to them on the pandemic and the precautionary measures to be taken. They were given instructions as to wearing mask, washing hands, using sanitizer, and wearing gloves.  They were made aware of the importance of maintaining social distance in the college and outside as well. Hand wash and sanitizer is kept at the entrance of the institution and one each in all the departments.                             ...

  Self Defense Skill             The Physical Education department gives importance to self-defense skills and more importance to that of women. In order to bring awareness among the girl students of the institution, the physical education department arranged a demonstration of the traditional Indian defense “Silambam”. An alumni of the institution Mr. P. Santhosh Kumar gave an introduction about the art of Silambam to the students and then gave a demonstration session on 04.02.2019. After that, the girls were divided into groups and involved in practice. They enthusiastically participated in the practical session. They felt energized and it was evident from their active participation in the practical session. They expressed that it was very useful for them and they felt rejuvenated.
